Founded in 1911, The Monticello Golf Club is one of the oldest existing golf clubs in Eastern Iowa. Architect Bill Hall Sr. AKA "Black Bill". The infamous swale"y" on number 9 will get you almost 50% of the time. Memorial tournament for Bill Hall Sr. is usually the first weekend in July right around Independence day every year.

While steeped in rich history going back over a century, the Monticello Golf Club also boasts the newest state of the art clubhouse featuring a sunken bar, multiple flat screen TV’s, fireplace, indoor and outdoor dining facilities and wireless internet.

Nestled between the Jones County fairgrounds and the scenic Maquoketa River, the golf course has seen many major and minor  modifications over the years, in order to make the rounds more challenging, entertaining and fun, while never sacrificing the charm and beauty that have earned us the distinction of being named Best Golf Course of the year (by us members)!

A couple of our signature holes include the (over the pond) Par 3 #8 hole which can lead to a low score...or disaster!

Then there is our Par 5, #3 hole that once you hit your tee shot through the tunnel of trees, rewards you with playing the rest of the hole along the cliffs over looking the majestic Maquoketa river.
